We know starting or maintaining your loc journey can come with lots of questions, and we're here to make things easier. This page covers everything from booking consultations and client availability to loc services, classes, and more. Whether you're a new or existing client—or just exploring your options—we hope this guide provides the clarity you need.

    • Rachel – Not at the moment. All new appointments with Rachel are assisted by a stylist in training.

    • Courtney – Yes, Courtney is currently accepting new clients.

    • Nia – Not accepting new clients at this time.

  • Client availability opens as space becomes available. When existing clients leave, we open spots to those on the waitlist. Join our waitlist to be considered for the next opening. Rachel will not be accepting clients for the foreseeable future as she plans to expand and train new stylists.

  • Consultations are in-person only. We need to see and feel your hair to determine the best service for your needs. This ensures an accurate quote and proper booking time.

  • When we are accepting new clients, you can book a consultation directly on our website on our booking site. Click ‘Book Now ‘ at the top of the page or visit: www.thelockgurusalon.glossgenius.com

  • No. All consultations must be done in person to assess hair health, texture, and density.

  • No. Consultations must happen before any service is booked. This helps us avoid surprises and ensures we allocate the correct amount of time and give you an accurate quote for your appointment.

  • The fastest way to rebook or cancel is via our website. Check out this How-To Video Guide (coming soon) for help.

    • Rachel – Yes, with the support of a stylist in training. Once the stylist is fully trained, they will be your main loctician.

    • Courtney & Nia – Currently not accepting transfer clients.

  • We recommend a minimum of 4 inches of natural hair to begin locs.

  • Coming soon! Stay tuned for our recommended network of trusted locticians.

  • Yes. Our Loc Grooming & Repair Services include:

    • Slippage repair

    • Hole repair

    • Loc reattachment

    These services are billed by the stylist’s hourly rate.

  • Yes! We provide hands-on Microloc & Interlocking Training + Certification.

    • Cost: $2500

    •  Includes: 3-day training + monthly coaching calls for 3 months

  • Rachel – Currently unavailable for one-time appointments.
    Please reach out to inquire about availability with other stylists.

  • No. A consultation is required before booking.
    We do offer a special option for out-of-town clients who need a one-time service—this must be booked in advance to ensure sufficient time is reserved.

  • Our pricing is based on the hourly rate of your stylist. Each stylist sets their own hourly rate.
    Example: A 2-hour service at $70/hour = $140

  • No, we do not add extensions during the starter loc process.

  • Absolutely! Relaxed ends are okay as long as you have at least 2 inches of new growth.
